The space between the toes and the skin connecting the toes, called the toe webspace, is the characteristic location for 2 conditions: athlete's foot and scabies. This area of skin is perfect for the fungal infection of athlete's foot because this area is confined in shoes and is constantly moist when the feet perspire. Scabies is an infestation of skin mites that will often be found on the webspace of both the fingers and toes. Rashes from a variety of causes can also occur in this skin.
